STM32F413/423Print

ST has introduced a new member of the STM32 mcu family, the STM32F413. It is the highest member of the STM32F4 Access Line sub-family.

The STM32F4xx family, based on ARM Cortex-M4 core processor, represents the upper-middle class within the STM32 mcus. It features clock frequencies of 100MHz to 200MHz, 0.5 to 2MB of FLASH and up to hundreds of kB of RAM memories, plus a generous portion of peripherals. But even this family has been split up into three classes. The lowest of them, Access Line, aims to replace the
oldest STM32F1xx family.

STM32F413 is the newest and biggest member of the STM32F4 Access Line class. Its most remarkable feature is the unusually big, 320kB SRAM.

Together with STM32F413, ST introduced also STM32F423. Similar to other members of 'F4xx/'F7xx families, the addition of ten in numbering indicates presence of cryptographic functions.

Boring list of features:
- ARM? 32-bit Cortex? -M4 CPU, FPU (single precision), DSP instructions, 100MHz max. freq 1.7 V to 3.6 V power supply
-40?C to 85/105/125?C temperature range
- up to 1.5 Mbytes of Flash memory, 320 Kbytes of SRAM
- external static memory controller, dual mode Quad-SPI interface
- 4-to-26 MHz crystal oscillator, internal 16 MHz factory-trimmed RC, 32 kHz oscillator, internal 32 kHz RC
- 2x12-bit DAC, 1?12-bit, 2.4 MSPS ADC: up to 16 channels
- 6x digital filters for sigma delta modulator, 12x PDM interfaces
- up to 4x I2C (SMBus/PMBus), up to 10 UARTS (ISO 7816 interface, LIN, IrDA, modem control), up to 5 SPI/I2S, up to 18 timers
- RTC: subsecond accuracy, hardware calendar
- SDIO interface (SD/MMC/eMMC)
- USB 2.0 full-speed device/host/OTG controller with PHY
- 3x CAN (2.0B Active)
- 1xSAI (serial audio interface)
- true random number generator, CRC
- QFN48, LQFP64/100/144, WLCSP81, UFBGA100/144

The F4xx Access Line is not perfectly pin compatible with other STM32F4xx parts. Datasheets indicate differences in 2-3 pins connections for several package variants.

An interesting detail, ST remarks in a footnote to the press release, that also other STM32F4xx Acces Line circuits will be available for the extended temperature range, up to +125?C.
