Another very interesting kickstarter project called Badgerboard. That's LoRa? devel board with Arduino compatible pinout.
The team say that the radio range is from 1 to 3 km in urban area, up to 10 km in open area.
What Badgerboard contains?
The main component of devel board is ATMega32U4 microcontroller by Atmel Microchip. The wireless module was chose RN2483/RN2903 - LoRaWAN? Class A. The module supports two communication frequencies, 433 and 868 MHz (or 915 MHz).
On the board is SMA connector for external antenna.
Of course, the Badgerboard includes charger chip for Li-Ion a Li-Po battery.
Next it contains temperature and humidity sensor HTS221 by STMicroelectronics, which is very low power sensor and accuracy is +- 0.5 ?C in range from -15 to + 40 ?C and +-3.5% rH in range from 20 to 80% rH.
You can use SPI, I2C, GPIO or 10-bit ADC which are connected to headers.
